Tom Cassels

Tom Cassels is a strategist, team builder, and a trusted advisor committed to making healthcare better for all humanity, and to bringing greater humanity into healthcare. For 20+ years, he’s helped CEOs, operators, investors, intrapreneurs and entrepreneurs to achieve these ends.

Most recently Tom served as President and CEO of Rock Health Advisory to help large and established companies inside, and on the periphery of, the healthcare industry identify innovative digital opportunities, craft novel solutions, and transform amidst an evolving landscape. At the same time Tom served as a venture partner at the launch of Rock Health Capital, an early-stage venture fund investing in remarkable entrepreneurs working at the intersection of healthcare and technology.

Prior to his work with Rock Health Tom spent time as an intrapreneur at Leidos, serving as chief strategy officer for the health division’s first foray into the commercial healthcare market. He learned what it means to build something new within a well-established Fortune 500 company, and experienced firsthand the highs and lows of competing in the enterprise healthcare technology market.

Tom spent 15 years with the Advisory Board Company where he provided strategic consulting, governance services, and market intelligence to the C-suite executives of hospitals, health systems, health plans, and life sciences companies. He led the company’s flagship membership product, the Health Care Advisory Board, helping thousands of executives to navigate change and became a founding partner of the company’s Strategy consulting practice.
