Andy Coravos

Expert-in-Residence

Andrea (Andy) Coravos works at the edge of the humanities and science: building, writing, and researching, with a throughline of finding things that make life better and scaling them so more people have access.

She runs Grey Heron Global, a strategic advisory practice for founders, funds, and research organizations, and is an active angel investor with 85+ investments across tech, life sciences, Broadway, and film. Lately she's spent much of her time building at the frontier of AI, from a DIY medical-billing advocate trained on her own claims data to projects across cybersecurity and storytelling.

Andy co-founded HumanFirst and served as its CEO for seven years, through the company's 2024 acquisition by ICON plc (NASDAQ: ICLR). Earlier, she was an Entrepreneur in Residence at the FDA's Digital Health Unit, shaping policy for software-as-a-medical-device and AI/ML, and a research collaborator at the Harvard-MIT Center for Regulatory Science. She started her career at McKinsey & Company and KKR Capstone, then moved into tech. First, as an engineer at Instacart, and then in data science and machine learning at Akili Interactive, maker of the first FDA-cleared video game before earning her MBA at Harvard. She enjoys writing poetry, and splits her time between Dublin, Ireland and Brooklyn, NY.
