
Dr. Aline Okita is a physician and dermatologist trained at the University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil’s leading medical school, and a faculty member in Dermatology at Universidade de Mogi das Cruzes. Since 2017, she has worked at Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein (São Paulo) with a focus on innovation—developing AI models for skin-image analysis, leveraging big data, and advancing teledermatology. As an XIR at Digitalis Commons, she advises early-stage health innovators and the Wellcome Trust in advancing mental health technologies from innovation to real-world impact.
In 2020, Aline created CoronaBR, a virtual triage platform that received over 1 million visits in its first 24 hours and ultimately reached more than 20 million people worldwide; it was recommended by Brazil’s Ministry of Health and supported by IBM. In 2021, she founded Kintsu, whose flagship product Bioplanner helps democratize access to care for patients with rare and immune-mediated diseases, serving multinational biopharma partners.
