Medic Mobile

STAGES

Scale, Finance

Medic Mobile is a global nonprofit building essential digital tools with and for community health workers (CHWs) in the world's hardest-to-reach communities. At the heart of their work is the Community Health Toolkit (CHT), an open-source digital platform currently used in 23 countries by more than 177,000 CHWs, touching an estimated 88 million lives.

The Challenge

While digital public goods like the CHT are critical for health systems, they still have a long way to go in reaching the 4.5 billion people globally who still lack access to essential health services. This is further disrupted by the evolving global health funding landscape. This uncertainty persists even as the demand for reliable digital tools continues to grow, putting over a decade of impact at risk.

The Approach

Digitalis Commons is helping Medic define the next chapter of the CHT by clarifying its global steward role and building a robust sustainability strategy. Our support includes financial planning, market mapping, and product strategy to ensure that Medic has a clear, compelling path to broaden the impact of the technology. This guidance will strengthen the connection between global stewardship and local delivery.

The Solution

With a sharpened financing strategy and communications, Medic will solidify the CHT's position alongside other leading digital public goods. This will ensure the CHT remains a reliable and growing platform for community health programs worldwide.

“Today, over 177,000 health workers use the CHT, providing care to an estimated 88 million people,” said Dykki Settle, Chief Executive Officer at Medic. "While we are proud of the impact so far, this is still only 2% of the 4.5 billion who lack access to essential health services. Digitalis Commons' Scale Studio is helping us safeguard the platform's impact and sustainably support the next level of scale, ensuring that countries will have the digital tools they need to bring life-saving care to their entire population.”
